Find a wide range of culture, entertainment and shopping in Denmark’s capital, which is one of Europe’s oldest cities. But of course, just like any other cities, Copenhagen has amazing things that you can do for free. Enjoy the list we have prepared all for you!
1. Have a Rest & Relaxation at Botanisk Have

3. Score some at Torvehallerne gourmet food market
Torvehallerne is known to be an expensive market but it doesn’t mean that you’re not going to find freebies here. Some stalls even give free samples!
4. Visit Den Sorte Diamant(The Black Diamond)
This epitome of modern Scandinavian gem is worth a visit! Check out the beautiful architecture with a shiny black granite exterior. This Copenhagen landmark even offers free WiFi, striking harbour views, and a free permanent exhibit that involves literary persuasion.
5. Soak up some sunshine at the city’s green spaces
Join the locals and other tourists as they spend an afternoon in some of Copenhagen’s parks. There’s Ørstedsparken, a popular inner-city park. In the north of the city, Dyrehaven is located that is a huge wild park that consists of roaming deer and protected forests. For a dreamy, English-styles park, check out Frederiksberg that is perfect for afternoon picnics.
6. Hang at Assistens Kirkegård
Aside from visiting the graves of some prominent Danes like Hans Christian Andersen, Søren Kierkegaard and Niels Bohr, you can also spot a secluded spot in Assistens where you can read a great book, steal a kiss with your partner or have some beers with your buddies.
7. Unleash your inner hunter-gatherer with Byhøst
Enjoy free fresh produce, (yes free!) from berries and nuts to fruits and herbs. Thanks to Byhøst that literally means “city harvest.” Just check out their map for locations and start hunting now!
8. Get entertained at Bolsjefabrikken (The Candy Factory)
Listen to great music inside an abandoned building that is run by volunteers, aiming to showcase the talents of young artists, musicians, and performers. Enjoy the underground, dancehall and reggae concerts! Gratis! You can check out their Facebook page for events.
9. Bond with hippies at Christiania
This self-proclaimed autonomous neighborhood in Copenhagen is filled with bars, cafés, music venues, organic food shops and a home to over 1000 bohemians. Stroll through Pusher Street, along the winding paths and marvel at the lush nature and funky architecture. Best time to visit is during spring where Christiana’s local cinema, Byen Lys, hosts the famous and free Science & Cocktails nights.
10. Rub elbows with the locals at Islands Brygge
A tour in Copenhagen wouldn’t be complete without visiting the city’s premiere summer hangout. Soak up some sun for free at the harbour side.
