Join City Lights Books as they welcome Devorah Major on the launch of her new book And Then We Became on Wednesday, November 16th at 7:00 pm in San Francisco, California.
And Then We Became is about our differences and personal histories, mythologies and urgencies, collective struggles and dreams.
The poems are infused with questions of culture, ethnicity, and gender. All phrases are rich with social and political commentary, and overflows with different emotions like love, compassion, anger, love, and hope.
Major is an American writer, editor, professor and recording artist. She has won a number of awards in poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction, and was awarded as San Francisco’s third Poet Laureate.
She graduated from San Francisco State University in 1976 and is currently a part-time senior adjunct professor at the California College of the Arts.
