Munich is one of the best destinations in Europe. Here, we’ve listed the free and most fun activities and attractions in Munchen, Germany. Because we believe that the best things in life are free.
1. Hang out at the English Garden
Munich’s awesome city center park is a favorite destination for the locals and tourists alike, who wanted to have a break from the city’s hustle and bustle. Have a stroll around the vast grassy ground with beautifully manicured flower gardens and trees that look incredible during autumn, or sunbathe beside the lovely river and weir.
2. Explore Viktualienmarkt
Take a walk and enjoy browsing through different Bavarian specialties (or try some samples) like Schweinshax’n (pork knuckle) and Speck (smoked Black Forest ham) and a variety of local cheeses on the open air stalls in Viktualienmarkt.
3. Stroll through Schrannenhalle
Don’t forget to visit the rustic Schrannenhalle, a historic wrought-iron market hall that consists of different markets, restaurants, and shops.
4. Visit St. Peter’s Church Tower
Unlike some other churches in Europe, Munich’s oldest church dating back to 1180 does not charge anything on climbing its tower. Enjoy the city’s picturesque view from the top. Don’t forget to check out the strange gilt and jewel-covered skeleton of St. Mundita settled on top of a cushion.
