Experience welcoming the New Year Japanese style as the Buddhist Church of Oakland hosts a New Year’s Eve service on Saturday, December 31st from 8:00 pm until 9:00 pm in 825 Jackson Street, Oakland, California 94607.
The celebration will also have a Dharma message, an opportunity to participate in the Japanese tradition of ringing the bell 108 times, and traditional New Year’s Eve free refreshments.
The event is free and open to the public, but donations are graciously accepted. There’s parking available in the parking lot or there’s easy access from Lake Merritt BART Station.
