Explore Freshkills Park with plenty of activities this Sunday, June 4th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in Staten Island, New York.
Enjoy a day full of activities like photography, bicycling, kite-flying, tours, and more. This free event is a chance to explore normally closed areas of Freshkills Park and enjoy the unique landscape and spectacular views the landfill-to-park project has to offer!
The event will include:
- Guided tours with NYC Audubon and NYC Sanitation.
- Bicycling on five miles of paved paths. Bring your own bike or rent one for free at the park!
- Self-guided hiking and photography across eight miles of trails.
- Kite-flying and other activities for kids led by NYC Parks.
- Shuttles to and from the event area: one at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, one at parking lots near 350 Wild Avenue, and another at one of the park’s scenic hills.
