Come watch one of the best annual astronomical events of the year, the Perseids Meteor Shower that will make its annual trip through our atmosphere and light up the night sky on Saturday, August 12th.
For 2017 the Observatory Deck (which offers breathtaking views 1,500 feet above the Bay) will be open from 12am to 3am for the Meteor Shower with Chabot’s astronomy experts on hand to answer your questions and help you catch a glimpse of the brightest meteors in the night sky.
When: This is a late night event 12am to 3am (we have it listed at 11:59pm on our calendar just so it shows up as the last event on Saturday night, but the event does not begin until 12am)
Where: Observation Deck (located at the rear of the Museum) – Use the outside gate around the back of the Center. Follow the signs to the observatory entrance gate.
This is free and open to the public.
