Join the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and the San Francisco Parks Alliance as they team up for a bicycle tour of SF’s Street Parks — community-built spaces that range from traditional parks and gardens to tiled stairways to open recreation spaces.
The bike tour will be this Sunday, March 4th, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, having Tunnel Top Park in 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue as the meeting point. Free, but an RSVP is required.
These Street Parks are created when communities found a space, come up with a design, and raise funds to build them with support from the San Francisco Parks Alliance and San Francisco Public Works.
Hear the story of how these Street Parks were created straight from the amazing community members who built them.
Stops on the tour will include:
- Tunnel Top Park (start)
- Progress Park
- Esmeralda Slide Park
- Athens Avalon Greenspace
- Kenny Alley (End)
The tour will be approximately six miles on a bicycle. It’s guaranteed that the group will bike at a comfortable pace and no one will be left behind.
